Princess Cooper, aged 25, a resident of the Tweh Farm, Bushrod Island and Melvin Togba, aged 36 a resident of Jallah Town, were both found dead on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at FAWAZ Building Construction Company - ELWA Junction, Paynesville City and in Jallah Town, Monrovia respectively.

We welcome and encourage a speedy and impartial investigation to include autopsy to ascertain the cause of death; it is very important to establish the involvement of alleged perpetrators, if any - or natural causes if so. This will thereby give the families and the public reprieve.  We bemoan the loss of these promising lives amidst heightening calls for a violent free environment for women, children, men and vulnerable people.

We sympathize with the families, friends and loved ones for such irreparable loss.

Currently, we have dispatched a team of social workers to provide psychosocial support to the immediate bereaved families of the victims.

The Ministry assures the public that it will remain fully engaged in ensuring that the cause of deaths are established and justice as applicable, served.
