GENDER EXTENDS HAPPY FLAG DAY GREETINGS TO LIBERIANS
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection extends Happy Flag Day greetings to all Liberians.
Our Ensign symbolizes the values, beliefs and history that we share as a people. This National Holiday of ours' was made possible as the result of the contribution of seven remarkable women: Susannah Lewis, Matilda Newport, Rachel Johnson, Mary Hunter, J.B. Russwurm, Conilette Teage, and Sara Dripper in designing our flag.
The role Women played in the formative stage of our Country was as vital as their male counterparts. That's why the protection of women, girls and vulnerable boys from rape, and all other sorts of SGBV is even more important in today's Liberia.
The Ministry congratulates the Government of Liberia for selecting a young female who happens to be an Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection Madam Mamensie Kabba as this year's Orator for the Nation's Flag Day.
We hope her message of unity in all we do resonates with every Liberian at home and abroad as we endeavor to ensure we all move our beloved mama Liberia to higher heights.
Happy Flag Day! Let's unite in defeating COVID-19, and the scourge of rape and SGBV out of our country.
