Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Division

The GBV Division provides psychosocial support and other related GBV specialized protection services to survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV); as well as leading on all efforts relating to the prevention and response to GBV. The Division also provides guidance for the formulation of policies, regulations, and guidelines on the management of gender-based violence. The Division works closely with the Ministries of Justice and Health, its relevant UN Partners, Civil Society Organizations, NGOs, INGOs and other related structures to ensure the prevention and adequate response to GBV; as well as the observance of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. Additionally, the GBV Division collates a monthly statistical report on GBV, which is published quarterly and annually. The Director and Assistant Director head the Division, respectively, with support from other staff members to include, the Administrative Assistant, Research Officer, Social Workers and Office Assistant.
