The Country Director of a nonprofit group that allows donors send money directly to poorest households, GiveDirectly, recently paid a courtesy visit to Gender Minister, Hon. Gbeme Horace Kollie.
The goal of the visit was to strengthen ties with the Ministry of Gender.
In a brief conversation, the Gender Boss applauded
GiveDirectly Country Director, Mr. Joseph Yarsiah, for all his organization had done for the women of Liberia.
Minister Horace-Kollie used the occasion and made a rallying call on the group through its Country Director to support pending MoGCSP’s programs, some of which seek to improve the livelihood of women and less fortunate children.
Since 2009, GiveDirectly have delivered over US$750M in cash directly into the hands of over 1.5 million people living in poverty. They currently have operations in Bangladesh, DRC, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Uganda, and the U.S.A.
