FAO Holds Acquaintance Meeting With Gender Minister
On today, a team headed by FAO Representative, Madam Binitia Stephen-Tchicaya, paid a courtesy visit to Gender Minister, Madam Gbeme Horace-Kollie. During the visit, the FAO delegation projected some of it’s pending programs about Women Empowerment in Agriculture.

 

The visit also highlighted discussions on possible partnership opportunities in promoting Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture.
FAO also displayed a PowerPoint presentation referencing women significant role in agriculture as well as mainstreaming gender into all its programs and projects.
 
For her part, Madam Gbeme Horace-Kollie praised the FAO for their level of work with the women of Liberia particularly in the agricultural sector. She emphasized her appreciation for their commitment in crosscutting gender in all FAO’s programs. Madam Horace~Kollie further stressed the importance of inclusive participation, that is, getting MGCSP fully involved in all of its gender related-program planning stages, as well as implementation. This, she indicated will help the ministry track the number of women beneficiaries in the sector of fishery and agriculture respectively.
