Gender Minister Attends Launch of UN Women Civil Society Advisory Group (#CSAG).

The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Gbeme Horace-Kollie, earlier today, honored a milestone launch of the UN Women Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG).

Held at the United Nations Headquarters in Sinkor, the event marked a renewed commitment to inclusive dialogue and collaboration between UN Women and civil society actors, with a particular emphasis on advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and the protection of vulnerable populations.

At the ceremony, Gender Minister underscored Liberia’s continued dedication to global partnerships that amplify the voices of women and civil society. She commended the reconstitution of the Advisory Group as a timely and strategic platform to strengthen accountability, drive grassroots advocacy, and shape inclusive policies in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

For her part, UN Women Country Representative, Ms. Comfort Lamptey, said: “What makes this CSAG particularly strong is its diversity. We’ve intentionally included youth representatives and male allies who are champions for gender equality. This inclusive approach ensures we remain truly accountable to all women and girls in Liberia, leaving no one behind in our journey toward gender equality.”

The gathering brought together civil society actors, Government representatives and UN officials to reaffirm collective efforts in ensuring that the voices of women and marginalized groups remain central to international development agendas.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Gender reaffirms its commitment to advancing gender equality and recognizes platforms such as the UN Women Civil Society Advisory Group as essential in shaping responsive, inclusive, and sustainable policy frameworks.
