Gender Minister Emphasizes Strict Adherence to Internal Financial Procedures

Speaking at the ministry’s regular senior staff meeting on Monday, July 8, Minister Horace-Kollie underscored the critical requirement that every financial transaction undergoes regular procedural clearance by the internal auditors.

The directive highlights the ministry’s commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in all financial operations under her leadership.

This stringent measure is crucial to ensuring that all financial activities strictly adhere to established guidelines and procedures. By subjecting each transaction to rigorous scrutiny, the ministry aims to uphold the highest standards of integrity and governance.

During the meeting, Minister Horace-Kollie emphasized three key programs as priority initiatives: Street Child, National Social Protection Policy Development, and Strengthening of Infrastructures in the Fight Against SGBV. She commended the efforts of various departments, divisions, and units involved in developing these projects, stressing their significance in advancing gender equality and empowerment across Liberia.

Minister Horace-Kollie urged all senior staff members to rigorously uphold these standards and ensure thorough vetting and documentation of every financial transaction. Adherence to these protocols, she emphasized, will uphold the ministry’s commitment to governance and responsible resource management for developmental initiatives.

Such commitment not only enhances transparency but also reinforces public trust in the management of resources allocated for gender equality and empowerment initiatives.

The senior staff meeting serves as a regular platform for updates from each of the ministry’s departments covering administration, gender, research, policy and planning, and children and social protection.

Closing the meeting, Minister Horace-Kollie reaffirmed her dedication to fostering a culture of accountability and efficiency within the ministry. She called for collaboration and diligence from all senior staff members to effectively achieve shared goals.
