The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Gbeme Horace-Kollie, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 held discussions with a World Bank delegation and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MoFDP) on Development Policy Financing.
The meeting which was also attended by some ranking members of MoGCSP, focused on how the World Bank’s budgetary support process, specifically Development Policy Financing (DPF), can be leveraged to support key policies and legal reforms undertaken by the Government of Liberia.
The discussion further highlighted key proposed legal reforms and the successful integration of these reforms into the Development Policy Financing framework.
Development Policy Financing (DPF) provides rapidly disbursing financing to help a borrower address actual or anticipated development financing requirements. It is also a World Bank lending instrument that provides credits, loans, grants or guarantees to a borrowing country through non-earmarked budget support.
Each line ministry is expected to lead on the policy and legal reforms within their area of expertise.
