On Monday, June 30, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection of the Republic of Liberia joined other national leaders, led by His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, in signing the Book of Condolence for the late President William Richard Tolbert, Jr.
The solemn ceremony, held at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion on Ashmun Street in Monrovia, is part of the Boakai Administration’s broader commitment to national healing and reconciliation. This initiative follows President Boakai’s announcement during his January 27, 2025 Annual Message, in which he pledged to grant long-overdue and dignified funeral rites to the nation’s two slain Presidents, William R. Tolbert, Jr. and Samuel Kanyon Doe, Sr.
The ceremony reflected a deep sense of national reflection and honor for a fallen leader whose life and service continue to shape Liberia’s historical journey.
