The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring an effective and fully functional National Gender-Based Violence (GBV) 116 Call Center. With support from the World Bank, this rebranded call center serves as a critical resource for survivors of violence, providing a confidential and accessible platform to report incidents and receive immediate assistance. The Ministry assures the public that the center will be a beacon of hope for women, girls, and children, advancing efforts to create a safer and more supportive environment.
Currently, final testing and technical arrangements are being completed to guarantee seamless operations upon launch. The hotline, staffed with trained professionals, will officially open to the public on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. This milestone reflects the Ministry’s dedication to strengthening support systems for survivors, fostering resilience, and promoting justice. The public is encouraged to utilize the GBV 116 Call Center as a vital tool in the fight against gender-based violence.
