(#Monrovia, Liberia-Monday), The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) will on Tuesday, February 17, convene a Stakeholders’ Coordination Meeting with international and development partners engaged in gender equality, child protection, and social protection programs across Liberia.
The meeting, organized by the Office of the Minister, forms part of the Ministry’s strategic efforts to strengthen coordination, collaboration, and alignment of partner-supported interventions with national development priorities. It marks the beginning of a structured engagement framework aimed at enhancing collective impact and accountability within the sector.
As the Government of Liberia’s lead institution for gender equality, child welfare, and social protection, the Ministry recognizes that sustainable and inclusive development can only be achieved through coherent collaboration between government institutions and development partners. The coordination meeting will therefore provide a platform to align ongoing and planned partner interventions with the Ministry’s Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026–2030) and the national ARREST Agenda (2024–2029), particularly Programs 47–50 under Pillar Six.
Discussions at the meeting will be organized around four thematic pillars: Gender Equality, Child Protection, Social Protection, and Institutional Capacity Strengthening. Stakeholders are expected to share program updates, identify opportunities for synergy, and agree on practical coordination mechanisms that reduce duplication and strengthen service delivery nationwide.
The Ministry emphasized that the ARREST Agenda places strong focus on human capital development, social inclusion, and good governance, all of which fall within the core mandate of the MGCSP. Strengthened coordination with partners is therefore essential to advancing women’s rights, protecting children, and expanding social welfare systems for vulnerable populations.
To support effective monitoring and accountability, the Ministry will introduce a standardized reporting template to be used by all partners, ensuring harmonized data collection, consistent reporting, and results-based decision-making.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection remains committed to fostering strong partnerships and a unified approach toward achieving measurable progress in gender equality, child protection, and social protection in Liberia.
