…MGCSP Hosts In-House Training On Gender Equality and Women Empowerment
The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MGCSP), through its Gender Social Inclusion Unit (GSIU), on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, organized a one-day workshop aimed at enhancing staff awareness and capacity on gender equality and women empowerment. The workshop focused on deepening understanding of gender equality concepts and promoting the effective implementation of the Gender Responsive Planning and Budgeting Policy (GRPBC), introduced in 2018.
During the workshop, participants engaged in interactive sessions and presentations that highlighted the significance of gender equality in their professional roles. The sessions underscored key principles such as the promotion of equal rights and opportunities for all genders, equipping staff with the knowledge and skills needed to integrate these principles into their daily work.
A major emphasis of the workshop was the GRPBC policy, which seeks to mainstream gender considerations across all planning and budgeting processes within the Ministry. By familiarizing staff with this policy, the workshop aimed to ensure that gender equality and women empowerment remain central to the Ministry’s objectives.
The Ministry’s initiative to organize this workshop reflects its commitment to fostering an inclusive society where opportunities and rights are accessible to everyone, regardless of gender. By building the capacity of its staff in these critical areas, the Ministry continues to advance its mission of promoting gender equality and empowering women throughout Liberia. The one day gathering was supported exclusively by the Government of Liberia.
