…DMG Applauds Women NGOs for Their Support
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has received a significant boost in its efforts to support vulnerable women and girls, thanks to a generous donation from the Women NGO Secretariat of Liberia (WONGOSOL).
The donation, which included over 300 essential items, was presented to the Ministry by Madam Esther Yango David, the head of WONGOSOL. The items include sanitary pads, toothpaste, slippers, lappa, toothbrushes, women’s underwear, and bath soap. These materials are intended to enhance the Ministry’s efforts in providing critical support to women and girls in need, especially those in vulnerable circumstances.
Speaking during the presentation, Madam Esther Yango David commended the Ministry for its tireless work in advocating for and supporting women and girls across Liberia. She reaffirmed WONGOSOL’s commitment to partnering with the Ministry to improve the lives of vulnerable populations and pledged to continue supporting its initiatives in every way possible.
Receiving the donation, Deputy Minister for Gender, Atty. Laura Golakeh expressed profound gratitude to WONGOSOL for its unwavering support. She highlighted the significance of collaboration with women-focused organizations, emphasizing that such partnerships are essential to achieving the Ministry’s goals of promoting gender equality and protecting women and girls.
“This donation will go a long way in strengthening our work to reach and support women and girls across the country. We deeply appreciate WONGOSOL’s continued commitment to our shared vision of empowering and uplifting vulnerable populations,” DMG Golakeh stated.
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection continues to call on other organizations, stakeholders, and partners to join forces in addressing the pressing needs of women and girls in Liberia.
