Gender Ministry Intensifies Efforts to Remove Children From the Streets

As part of its 13-day operation to ensure the immediate removal of children from the streets, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has continued its street engagement efforts. Social workers are actively interacting with children, documenting their information and assessing their needs.

This initiative falls under the Ministry’s flagship program, Support a Child, Save the Future, which aims to provide vulnerable children with safe and nurturing environments. The program focuses on family reunification, placement in foster care, or temporary transit home arrangements to secure the well-being and future of at-risk children.

On the first day of the operation, Gender Minister led a team of social workers into the streets, personally engaging with street children. The outreach witnessed several captivating stories, highlighting the urgent need for coordinated action to address this social issue.

The Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the public informed about the progress of the operation, which will run for 13 days.

For more information or to report cases of children in need, the public is encouraged to contact the Ministry’s Communication Unit.
