
“For us in Gbardiah, especially we the women, poverty has made us helpless to the extent that our husbands think we are a burden. But when this project comes, where our girl children who dropped out can go back to school, and we the women are supported to expand our farms and businesses, a lot will change and we will be able to improve our lives.” One participant, Madam Marupue Garsadeh, shared:
84 communities across Rivercess County are set to benefit from the Government of Liberia’s Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), implemented by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection alongsie ActionAid Liberia other consortium organizations, (Service Providers) delivering on Component 1B of the project.
Through ongoing stakeholder engagements in beneficiary communities, residents are being informed about the project’s opportunities, expectations, and implementation processes to ensure communities fully understand how they can benefit from the initiative.
During an engagement in Gbardiah, Kploh District, residents expressed gratitude to the Government of Liberia for including their community among the 498 beneficiary communities across six project counties.
The Liberia Women Empowerment Project continues to bring hope and opportunity to women and girls in underserved communities across Liberia.
