In Gbarma District, Gbarpolu County, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP), through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), continues to strengthen community action for peace, safety, and positive social change.
A total of 28 SASA activists and community leaders participated in the Component 1A SASA Awareness Phase Training held at the Gbarma City Hall.
The training is important because SASA activists are the everyday voices of change in their communities. By building their capacity, MGCSP is equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to challenge harmful social norms, promote respectful relationships, prevent violence, and encourage peaceful ways of resolving conflict.
Through LWEP, MGCSP is investing in community-based leadership that helps women, men, girls, and boys live in safer and more peaceful communities across Liberia.
