When survivors seek help, the quality of the first response can make all the difference. Through the Liberia Women’s Empowerment Project, the Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia a is conducting a four-day integrated training for 40 frontline #changemakers (26 women and 14 men) from Bomi, Gbarpolu and Grand Cape Mount counties.
Healthcare workers, women and children protection officers, and social workers are strengthening their practical skills in GBV prevention and response, sexual and reproductive health and rights, psychological first aid, psychosocial support, and safe, survivor-centred referral systems.
Using participatory and hands-on sessions, the training is helping participants provide compassionate support, protect survivors’ dignity and connect women and girls to appropriate services.
This empowerment by the Government of Liberia is building a stronger community-level response where survivors are heard, protected and safely supported.
