The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) continues to advance women’s economic empowerment through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP) by promoting transparency, accountability, and fairness in the implementation of livelihood support initiatives. As part of this commitment, the Ministry convened the 6th Sitting of the Independent Proposal Evaluation and Approval Committee (IPEAC) to review Enterprise Support and Livelihood Grant (ESLG) applications submitted by aspiring women entrepreneurs and women-led businesses across Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, and Rural Montserrado Counties.
During the sitting, the Committee independently evaluated 194 Enterprise Support and Livelihood Grant (ESLG) applications using established eligibility criteria and objective assessment standards. The rigorous evaluation process is designed to ensure that every proposal is reviewed impartially, transparently, and on its own merit before funding recommendations are made. This independent review mechanism strengthens public confidence in the grant selection process while ensuring that support reaches eligible beneficiaries with viable business ideas capable of creating sustainable economic opportunities, reinforcing the Ministry’s commitment to empowering women, strengthening livelihoods, and promoting inclusive economic growth across Liberia.
