The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project, is continuing due diligence activities in River Cess County to verify and engage women-led livelihoods groups and businesses ahead of further project support.
This important process is targeting 39 unique communities across the county, reaching a total of 167 women-led livelihoods groups and businesses. These include 113 Individual Enterprises and 54 Village Savings and Loan Associations, helping to ensure that the right beneficiaries are properly identified, verified, and prepared.
The due diligence exercise strengthens transparency, accountability, and community confidence in the LWEP process, while supporting the Government of Liberia’s commitment to empowering women, improving livelihoods, and expanding economic opportunities in rural communities.
LWEP is a Government of Liberia project implemented by MGCSP, with financing support from the World Bank.
