Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia Welcomes Second Week of World Bank Implementation Support Mission for LWEP in Monrovia.

The Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP) Implementation Support Mission, led by World Bank Task Team Leader (TTL), Ashutosh Raina, continued on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Monrovia, marking the second week of the World Bank mission. The engagement brought together the @World Bank Group the Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia (MGCSP), LWEP Project Management Unit, Plan International Liberia – Lead Service Provider, and all Service providers including CRS Liberia, Actionaid Liberia, medica Liberia, @Defence for Children – Liberia, Foundation for Community Initiatives, and KEEP-Liberia to review implementation progress, assess updates on the Joint Acceleration Plan, and support progressive planning for the next phase of implementation.

Delivering the welcome remarks, Hon. Curtis V. Dorley, Deputy Minister for Research, Policy and Planning at #MGCSP, welcomed participants and emphasized that LWEP is key in contributing to the Government of Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development, particularly the Rule of Law and Governance pillar, through its focus on accountability, transparency, citizen engagement, grievance redress, and inclusive participation.

The engagement will be held throughout the week, with discussions focusing on project progress, implementation priorities, coordination, achievements, challenges, lessons learned, progressive planning, and actions needed to accelerate results across LWEP counties.

The mission reaffirms the Government of Liberia’s commitment, through MGCSP, to advancing women’s empowerment, strengthening coordination, promoting forward-looking implementation planning, and accelerating results under LWEP with financing support from the World Bank.
