Changing Lives Through Opportunity: LWEP Brings Hope to Grand Cape Mount.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) continues to transform lives across Grand Cape Mount County through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP) Livelihood Grants. The initiative is empowering women-led businesses with the resources they need to expand their enterprises, improve household incomes, and strengthen local economies.

Throughout the joint field monitoring visits, communities welcomed the team with smiles, traditional drums, songs of appreciation, and heartfelt expressions of gratitude. The warm reception reflected the positive impact the project is making and the renewed hope it has brought to women and families across the county.

Speaking on behalf of her group, a VSLA Chairlady in Wangakor expressed her appreciation, saying:

“We’re happy to say thank you to the Government of Liberia and President Boakai for remembering us in this county. This grant is changing lives and helping to grow our businesses. We are happy and living together in peace here.”

The Ministry remains committed to ensuring that women across Liberia have access to opportunities that promote economic empowerment, foster peaceful communities, and create lasting, sustainable change.
