Hon. Gbeme Horace-Kollie Joins National Thanksgiving Service for Liberia’s 179th Independence Day Celebration

Buchanan, Grand Bassa County – July 26, 2026 – The Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Gbeme Horace-Kollie, joined senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, religious leaders, and citizens at the official National Thanksgiving Service held at the First United Methodist Church on Church Street in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, as part of activities commemorating Liberia’s 179th Independence Day. The service provided an opportunity for the nation to offer prayers of thanksgiving, reflect on Liberia’s progress, and renew its collective commitment to peace, unity, and national development.

Minister Horace-Kollie’s participation reaffirmed the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that foster social cohesion, inclusion, and the well-being of all Liberians. The Ministry remains dedicated to advancing policies and programs that protect the rights of women, children, older persons, and persons with disabilities while contributing to a more inclusive and prosperous Liberia.
