Accountability begins when communities are empowered to speak, report, and be heard.
In Jenneh 3, Bomi County, the Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia (MGSCP) with support from the World Bank, joined the final phase of the GRC capacity-building training under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project.
A total of five District GRC structures from Tehr, Dowein, Senje, Klay, and Suehn, along with one County-level GRC structure, successfully completed the training. This brings the total number of trained GRC structures under LWEP to 33, following the 28 structures trained last week.
The training strengthened GRC members’ understanding of the Grievance Redress Mechanism, their roles and responsibilities, complaint handling, documentation, confidentiality, referral, and timely feedback to communities.
The session was conducted by Actionaid Liberia and observed by Cheryl Williams; #WorldBank; Social and Gender Specialist, Janet Victoria Ngegla; #WorldBank Environmental Specialist, and Miatta Monger; Bomi County Gender Coordinator, reflecting a strong commitment to transparency, community voice, and accountable service delivery.
Through these GRC structures, #LWEP is building safer spaces where #women, #girls, #youth, #men, and #marginalizedgroups can raise concerns, report misconduct, and help protect the integrity of the project.
When communities speak, accountability grows.
When accountability grows, development becomes stronger.
