Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection Empowers 128 Women-Led Businesses Through LWEP Grants.

Under the leadership of Hon. Gbeme Horace Kollie, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) has begun the signing of Livelihood Grants for 128 women-led businesses under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP).

The grant-signing exercise, taking place April 10–18, 2026, is being conducted across Bomi, Montserrado, Grand Cape Mount, and Gbarpolu Counties.

Women-led businesses include 71 Village Savings & Loan Associations (VSLAs), 55 Individual Enterprises (IEs) and 2 Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs)

Through LWEP, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection continues to advance women’s economic empowerment, creating opportunities for women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and strengthen their communities.
