A powerful milestone in women’s economic empowerment was celebrated in Robertsport as several women-led Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) officially signed their Livelihood Grant contracts under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP).

The contract signing ceremony brought together dedicated and hardworking women who have consistently demonstrated resilience, unity, and a commitment to improving the lives of their families and communities.

The signing brought together strong and determined groups including: Dependable Women #1 VSLA, Dependable Women #2 VSLA, Dependable Women #3 VSLA, Robertsport Women Village Savings Association, Women of Substance VSLA, and Women of Success Village Saving Association #1.

For these groups, the signing of the Livelihood Grant contracts marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunity. Beyond the paperwork, each signature represents hope, determination, and a shared vision of building sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship, savings, and community cooperation. The grants will provide women with the resources needed to expand income-generating activities, strengthen their financial independence, and improve household well-being.

The Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), implemented through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP), continues to empower women across Liberia by providing financial support, capacity-building opportunities, and access to livelihood initiatives. Through these efforts, women are better equipped to overcome economic challenges, create employment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to local development.

This achievement is a testament to the strength and determination of Liberia’s women. As these groups embark on the next phase of their journey, they serve as an inspiration to others, demonstrating that when women are empowered with the right resources and opportunities, they become powerful drivers of positive change.

Congratulations to all the women-led groups in Robertsport on this remarkable achievement! Your dedication, resilience, and leadership are paving the way for stronger families, more prosperous communities, and a brighter future for Liberia.
