Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia Leads the Charge: 40 Voices Powering Change Through SASA! in Buchanan.

A total of 40 participants are in attendance: 28 women and 12 men, as the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP) rolls out a weeklong SASA! Awareness Phase Training in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.

Led by Ministry Of Gender, Children And Social Protection-Liberia (MGCSP) with funding from the World Bank, this training signals a big step forward in tackling gender-based violence through community-driven action. At the core of it is the SASA! methodology, encouraging critical conversations around power, challenging harmful norms, and opening pathways for women to thrive safely and equally.

With Raising Voices leading the facilitation, and strong backing from Plan International Liberia the , Medica Liberia, and Defense for Children International (DCI), alongside MGCSP Coordinators from six counties, this gathering is more than a training; it’s a movement in motion.

From Rivercess to Rural Montserrado, change is being activated-one conversation, one community, one voice at a time.
