The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, through the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), continues to strengthen community dialogue on preventing violence and promoting peaceful relationships.
In a recent SASA! community session, activist Jartu Darblo of Bola Town, Senjeh District, Bomi County, facilitated an engaging discussion on “The Positive and Negative Use of Power in the Community.” The session encouraged community members to reflect on how power is used in homes and communities, highlighting how it can either create harm or promote respect and harmony.
The discussion brought together 17 participants; 3 men, 4 boys, 5 girls, and 6 women, who shared experiences and explored ways to use their influence to build peaceful families and stronger communities.
This activity was conducted under Component 1a of the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), implemented by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, which focuses on promoting positive social norms and preventing gender-based violence through the SASA! Together approach.
